Pick up at the hotel and departure from Cusco
We will start our experience very early, between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. On board our tourist mobility, we will leave for the district of Cusipata, located south of the city.
Breakfast in Cusipata
Upon arriving in Cusipata, we will enjoy a local breakfast to recharge our batteries and prepare for the walk that awaits us. Then we will resume the route towards the province of Acomayo, bordering the beautiful Pomacanchi lagoon, surrounded by unique Andean landscapes.
Arrival in Santa Lucía and walk to Waqrapukara
From the community of Santa Lucía, we will begin the walk towards the archaeological complex of Waqrapukara. The walking tour takes approximately 1 hour along a path with impressive views of the Apurímac River canyon. During the journey, you will be able to admire the natural and cultural wealth of the area.
Exploration of the Waqrapukara archaeological complex
Once in Waqrapukara, you will have time to explore this impressive archaeological site that combines Inca structures with an imposing rock formation in the shape of horns. We will visit its agricultural platforms, ceremonial enclosures, viewpoints and plazas. The guide will share the history and meaning of this ceremonial center nestled between mountains.
Return along the same path
After exploring the site and taking spectacular photographs, we will begin the return walk along the same path until we reach the starting point, where our mobility will be waiting for us.
Lunch en route and return to Cusco
On the way back to Cusco, we will stop to enjoy a comforting lunch en route. Finally, we will arrive in the city at approximately 6:00 p.m., thus concluding a day full of history, nature, and impressive landscapes.
