Commercial policy

This Cancellation Policy of Trip in Peru governs changes, cancellations, and refunds of tourism services contracted with the Agency. It applies together with the booking confirmation and third-party supplier conditions.

Requests

Every change, rebooking, or cancellation request must be submitted in writing through the Agency’s official channels, identifying the booking code, dates, and passengers. The written receipt date determines any penalty calculation where applicable.

General refund conditions (Agency services)

  • More than 45 days before the service start date: refund of the refundable amount, minus administrative costs and non-recoverable expenses already incurred.
  • Between 44 and 30 days: a penalty of up to 30% of the refundable Agency package/service value may apply.
  • Between 29 and 15 days: penalty of up to 50%.
  • 14 days or fewer, no-show, or abandonment of the service: no refund of Agency amounts already committed, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The percentages above apply only to the Agency’s refundable service portion. They do not change the non-refundable nature of taxes, fees, and third-party tickets subject to special regulations.

Government entrance tickets and permits (Ministry of Culture rules)

Important: Entrance tickets, permits, and fees issued or managed before State entities — including, without limitation, Machu Picchu llaqta entrance tickets, nearby mountains, and Inca Trail permits and associated regulated routes — are, as a general rule and under the policies of the Ministry of Culture and competent entities, strictly non-refundable and non-transferable once issued or paid to the authority.

  • The Agency cannot force the return of amounts retained by the authority or official ticketing systems.
  • Any rebooking of such entrances, when available, depends solely on official availability and procedures, not on the Agency’s unilateral will.
  • Any exception proceeds only if the issuing entity authorizes it in writing under its regulations.

Non-refundable third-party services

Lodging, trains, buses, flights, insurance, and other third-party services may have their own non-refund or penalty policies. Those rules pass through to the traveler and are communicated or reflected in the quote/confirmation when possible.

Date and name changes

Date changes are subject to availability and may generate fare differences and administrative fees. Name or ownership changes on government tickets are often restricted or prohibited by the issuing entity.

Force majeure

In case of official closures, disasters, health emergencies, or other force-majeure events, the Agency will prioritize rebooking or reasonable alternatives. A full refund is not automatic and depends on amounts recoverable from suppliers and authorities.
